December 2011: 230 Documented Media Reports of Violence Against Women in India. Where is the outrage?
In the Month of December,2011 a total of 230 reports of violence against women were reported in main stream media. This Monthly Report is an attempt to bring to notice the bigger picture and remind everyone that our Women and Children are being tortured and murdered every day. I am not much of a writer, so i rest my case with these statistics and reports.

42 yr old godman arrested for victimising several women on the pretext healing.

The occultist known as 'Sufi Bengali Baba' allegedly used to dupe innocent women of money by claiming that he would solve their problems using his supernatural powers. He also persuaded women to have physical relations with him if they could not pay him money. He allegedly used to advertise through local cable network. Source: PTI

18 yr old girl set on fire after failed rape attempt.

Two women had invited her to their residence for a chat. A few minutes after she reached the house of the duo, a man came and tried to rape her. She was first beaten up for resisting the rape attempt and then the two women and the man poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze. She was gagged and could not scream. Source: The Tel

26 yr old Woman beaten and poisoned to death by her in laws for dowry.

Sadhna alias Komal was married to Pawan Garg, an employee at a dental college in Jaipur on June 14, 2011. The victims' father claimed that as per the in-laws' demands, he gave Rs 5 lakh in cash and jewellery worth lakhs of rupees as dowry.
